SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

The motorcyclist seriously injured Monday in a wreck on Mansfield Road at the on-ramp to La. 3132 is now listed in good condition at LSU Health.

Shreveport police and fire responded to the wreck involving the 3 wheeler Harley Davidson and a Chevy Trailblazer at in the 8800 block of Mansfield Road around 2 p.m.

They say 69-year-old Betty Litton of Shreveport failed to see the motorcycle in the south-bound lane of Mansfield Road and the exit ramp to La. 3132 and ran into the back of the motorcycle ridden by 59-year-old John Cich of Shreveport.

Cich was knocked off and landed on the hood of the SUV. He was taken to LSU Health with major head injury. His motorcycle traveled more than 400 feet into the woods, coming to rest against an embankment.

Litton was interviewed at the scene. Police say she told investigators that she had been looking down into the interior of the vehicle, and that when she looked up, she was "right on top of the motorcycle and couldn't stop in time."

Police have cited Litton for careless operation.
