TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) -

A vandalism call turned into a foot chase and burglary arrest on Sunday afternoon in Texarkana.

Texarkana, Texas Police Officer Scott Eudy responded to the call at around 1:15 on Sunday at Fantasy Nails in the 4500 block of N. Stateline Avenue and found that the glass in the front door had been shattered.

While waiting for another officer to arrive, police say Officer Eudy spotted a man inside the business. Officer Eudy pursued the suspect through the business, but the man kicked open the back door and continued to run.

The chase continued until the man was apprehended by Officer Jordan Dupree in the 4600 block of Elizabeth Street.

The suspect was identified as Robert Mitchell, 23, with an address listed as homeless.  Mitchell was arrested for burglary of a building and evading arrest, and was booked into jail at the Bi-State Justice Center and is awaiting bond.

Police say Mitchell is a fugitive from Miller County, Arkansas and Florida, having warrants for breaking and entering and assaulting a public servant, respectively.
