SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Police have identified the victim in Saturday's deadly home invasion in Shreveport's Sunset Acres neighborhood.

Police were called to the home in the 3000 block of Amherst Street at 6:15 a.m. and arrived to find 22-year-old Duntavious Young in the front yard, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Young was taken to LSU Health, where he was pronounced dead.

According to police, violent crimes detectives and crime scene investigators have learned that the gunman went into the home and demanded money from Young. There was a struggle, and Young was shot at least once in the upper body.

There was a second adult inside the home at the time of the shooting who was not injured.

The investigation, and the search for the gunman, continues at this hour. Police say information and evidence collected on scene suggests that the suspect may have specifically targeted Young's residence.

Anyone with information about this crime is urged to call Shreveport Police at 318-673-6955 or Shreveport-Caddo Crimes Stoppers at 318-673-7373
