SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

State Rep. Patrick Williams of Shreveport traveled to Charlotte,  North Carolina to see President Obama accept the nomination for president.

Williams, a Democratic delegate, represented Louisiana at the DNC.

He describes hearing the president speak Thursday night as a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and one he won't forget.

Williams says he was most impressed with how candid Obama was about some of the goals he hasn't reached.

"But what he did do, he laid out what it is that he needs to do. And I think it appealed to me because he's human. And he can't do everything at once. But it's not like he failed because from the onset of his presidency, the Republican Party vowed to make him a one-term president," says Williams.

Williams' favorite speaker throughout the entire convention was Michelle Obama, because, he says, her speech appealed to a person's emotions.
