A Longview woman escaped injury when she lost control of her car and slammed into a utility pole, Wednesday morning.
Just after 10 a.m., an older model firebird was traveling in the 300 block on Marion Drive near Fredonia Street when the driver lost control and slammed into a utility pole, snapping it in half before coming to rest in a nearby yard.
There was only one person in the vehicle and she was not injured. However, the roadway is blocked with power lines at this time. Crews are waiting on SWEPCO to come out and repair the pole and remove the lines from the roadway. Some homes are without power at this time.
