BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -
Thieves made off with tens of thousands of dollars worth of construction equipment over the weekend when they broke into storage sheds on the Margaritaville Casino property. The crime was the third such incident of stolen equipment at construction sites this month.
The storage units were locked, but the thieves gained access to a forklift, using it to tear an access point into the large storage unit. The stolen goods, which included drills, generators, and other heavy machinery, were loaded into a large vehicle and driven away. The weight and size of the stolen items lead investigators to believe that multiple people are responsible for the crime.
Bossier Police also believe that the same individuals are responsible for all three of the recent construction site burglaries. So far, no eye-witnesses have come forward.
