Athlete of the Week: Verlan Hunter - August 22 - KSLA News 12 Shreveport, Louisiana News Weather & Sports

This week's Landers Dodge Chrysler Jeep Athlete of the Week is Mansfield's Verlan Hunter.  A wide receiver on the football team, Hunter is one of the captains.  To go along with gaining all-area in football, Hunter's best sport is basketball being named to the 2A All-State team in 2011.  Verlan also sports a 3.5 GPA in the classroom and was on the homecoming court his junior year.
