CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

Caddo Parish deputies arrested a Shreveport man Tuesday after alert citizens witnessed a man using a school board truck to complete a personal job.

Deputies accuse Antonio D. Johns, 35, of 4548 South Fairway, of using a school board truck to dump gravel purchased with school board funds at a private business.

Deputies say Johns was hired to supply gravel material for a new parking lot at a construction site on Mansfield Road.

Johns allegedly obtained $2,400 in materials from a local company to complete the job, and he charged the materials to a school board account, deputies say.

Citizens tell deputies that they saw Jones delivering the gravel in the school board truck and alerted school officials, who then notified the sheriff's office.

Johns is charged with theft over $1,500 and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
