SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Blood left at the scene of a burglary led Shreveport crime scene investigators to their suspect, whom police arrested Wednesday nearly a month after the crime.

Police say that the suspect broke out front glass windows in process of a burglary that occurred on July 25 at the Stop and Get convenience store in the 9400 block of Linwood Avenue.

Police at the scene spotted outside the Stop and Get two cash registers belonging to the store. They say the registers had been ransacked.

Crime Scene Investigators called to the scene were able to recover blood evidence, which police say was given to the North Louisiana Crime lab for analysis.

A report on the analysis led Shreveport detectives to the 600 block of W. 82nd Street in Shreveport, where they found and arrested Terry Brown, 45, without incident on August 16.

After questioning, detectives charged Brown with one count of simple burglary.
