SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Four suspects armed with guns are behind bars after shots rang out Tuesday evening at an apartment complex in North Shreveport.

Shreveport Police say they responded about 6:30 p.m. to reports of men armed with guns at the Northwood Lake apartments in the 4300 block of North Market Street.

When police arrived, they say they saw the suspects attempting to flee in a white four-door sedan. They say the driver of the car led authorities on a brief pursuit that ended on the complex parking lot.

A foot pursuit then began, as one person was immediately caught and the other three were caught inside one of the apartment buildings.

Police say they seized a semi-automatic pistol from inside the suspect's vehicle.

Arrested were Deotis Cooper, 19, of the 400 block of Choctaw Trail and Xavier O'Neal, 18, of the 4300 block of North Market street. Two others, male juveniles, also were arrested.

Each suspect was charged with one count of illegal use of a weapon. O'Neal also was charged with one count of aggravated flight from an officer.
