CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) - A Mooringsport man is now facing two charges of second-degree murder, following the death of the second victim in a violent altercation on Sunday.

Roderrick Scott, 35, had already been booked on one count of second-degree murder for the shooting death of 29-year-old Stuart Myers. Caddo Parish sheriff's deputies say Scott shot Mayer before beating him in the head with a shotgun. They say 27-year-old Leslie Moss was beaten in the head with the same shotgun.

Family members say Moss suffered extensive and irreversible brain damage, and remained on life support until Monday. Moss was pronounced dead early Wednesday morning at LSU Health.

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office says the decision to bring an additional second-degree murder charge against Scott came after discussions with the Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office.

Scott remains in the Caddo Parish Correctional Center on the original $250,575 bond based on charges of second-degree murder and aggravated second degree battery. A new bond amount has not been set.
