SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

One of the teens seriously hurt in a deadly crash in July is making a slow recovery.

18-year-old Jonathon Bartley and Justin Venable, 17, survived the horrific crash along I-20 just east of I220 in Bossier Parish on July 6th that took the lives of 17-year-old Arien Manshack and 16-year-old Megan Mote. Their car crossed the median and slammed into an oncoming car.

Venable was released two weeks later, but family members say Jonathon Bartley is now at Promise Hospital undergoing physical and occupational therapy.

His mother says he opened one of his eyes a couple of weeks ago, but he is still unable to speak. She says his recovery is all about "baby steps."
