HENDERSON, TX (KLTV) -
Storms from Thursday morning left one East Texan with a tree inside her home.
She says it happened around 4a.m. on the 800 block of Belvedere Street in Henderson.
Barbara Bell says she didn't even hear the storm; all she knows is when she woke up there was a tree in her kitchen.
"I woke up around 4 a.m. to use the restroom and there it was," says Bell.
Bell says a giant tree limb poking through her ceiling as a result of Thursday morning's storms.
"I thought someone was coming in on me or something because it just scared me so bad. I thought that someone had broken in my house. I mean look at that I didn't know," says Bell.
"When I got here I was like oh my God I didn't know how far inside the tree had gone in. I asked if she was alright and she said yes, but it scared me because it was just sticking in there," says Bell's daughter Sharon.
Sharon says not too long ago a limb from the same tree fell on top of her brother's truck, and says the tree belongs to her mother's neighbor.
At the end of the day, Sharon says she's just happy no one was hurt.
"I thank God that he protected her," says Sharon.
Barbara says she has already had an insurance adjuster come out and survey the damage.
She plans to have the tree removed before the end of Thursday.
