SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
Shreveport police say an Arkansas man was shot in his car Saturday morning while parked in an alley with a woman who later was charged with prostitution.
Just after 7:30 a.m. police found Travis L. Walker, 29, of El Dorado, suffering from gunshot wounds to the shoulder and the ear. Walker was taken to LSU Health with what police described as non-life threatening injuries.
The shooting occurred in an alley near Sycamore Avenue and Myrtle Street, where detectives say Walker had been driving around when he met Thelma J. Anderson, 51. Walker gave Anderson a ride to the alley.
As Walker and Anderson were parked there, a gray car, possibly a Honda, pulled up and three male suspects got out and approached the couple. Police say one of the men pulled a firearm and began firing shots, two of which struck Walker. Walker then drove out of the alley and into the street where police found him.
Anderson fled the area on foot, but police soon found her.
Investigators charged Anderson, of Shreveport, with one count of prostitution. They are still working to identify and catch the shooting suspects.
Police ask anyone with information about this crime to contact Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373 or www.lockemup.org.
