CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -
A 19-year-old Coushatta woman has died after suffering severe injuries in a two-vechile crash that killed the driver on July 26 in DeSoto Parish.
Georgia Wilson died Thursday evening, Louisiana State Patrol troopers say. Wilson was a passenger in a Chevrolet Impala driven by Carly Deemer, 23, of Coushatta. Deemer was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers say an investigation revealed that a Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by John Cline, 27, of Longview, Texas was heading south on I-49 when he exited to Hwy. 84. Cline, troopers say, failed to stop at the stop sign.
As Cline's truck entered the intersection, Deemer's westbound Impala struck the tractor-trailer on the driver's side, troopers say.
Troopers say that neither Deemer nor her passenger, Wilson, were wearing seatbelts. Though Deemer died at the scene, Wilson was flown to LSU Health, where she died Thursday.
Toxicology samples were obtained and submitted for analysis. Cline was cited for failure to obey a stop sign, troopers say.
