DESOTO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -
One person was killed Thursday morning after a car struck a tractor-trailer that state troopers say failed to yield at the intersection of Hwy. 84 and I-49 in Desoto Parish.
Louisiana State Police say the tractor-trailer was heading south on I-49, where he exited but failed to stop while entering Hwy. 84. The car was heading west on Hwy. 84 when it struck the tractor-trailer, troopers say.
Though the car hit the truck, the truck driver is at fault for failing to yield, La. State Police spokesman Matt Harris says.
The car's driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and the passenger was flown to LSU Health.
Neither the car's driver nor the passenger had been wearing seat belts, troopers say.
