SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
A suspect has been named in the murder of a Shreveport woman late last week.
Investigators have obtained a warrant charging 18-year-old Rickey Darnell Williams with one count of second degree murder in connection with the shooting death of 27-year-old Jasmine Hall.
Hall was found shot once in the upper torso just after 10:30 p.m. on July 20, 2012, outside of a home in the 300 block of Boulevard Street. She was taken to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department where she later died.
Based on information gathered during their ongoing inquiry, police believe 24-year-old Brandon Reed, who is reported to be the husband of Jasmine Hall, was involved in a physical altercation with Williams allegedly regarding some aspect of a transaction involving the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics when Williams pulled out a handgun and fired the shot that struck the victim.
Williams' bond is set at $250,000 and police are asking anyone who has any information regarding his whereabouts to contact Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373 or www.lockemup.org
