BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

A few city streets near the CenturyLink Center will close this week to accommodate filming for the movie "Olympus Has Fallen," Bossier City police say.

The action thriller stars Gerard Butler, Dylan McDermott and Aaron Eckhart. Butler will play an ex-Secret Service agent fighting to defend the White House from terrorists. It's Millennium Studio's latest and biggest project yet.

Portions of the filming in and around the "White House" set on Walker Place Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will involve special effects work including periodic explosions and smoke.

As a result, Walker Place from Barksdale Boulevard to the A.R. Teague Parkway will remain closed through August 3.

NEW: Another stretch of A.R. Teague Parkway -- from the Jimmie Davis Bridge to Shady Grove Drive -- will remain closed today (Friday) until 1 a.m. Saturday.

That same section also will be closed Monday, July 30, 2012  from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Motorists will still be able to access the Chase Bank branch on Walker Place at Barksdale Blvd.

From Wednesday through Friday, motorists should expect intermittent detours and road closures from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. in these areas:

CenturyLink Drive from Angelle Drive to Walker Place;

Drivers are advised to avoid these streets during filming by taking alternate routes.

This schedule is subject to change, depending upon the weather.
