TYLER, TX (KLTV) -
One person has died as a result of injuries sustained in a collision involving a motorcycle and truck hauling a trailer.
It happened just after 7 p.m. on Highway 271, just south of Interstate 20.
DPS troopers say the truck that was hauling a trailer was parked on the shoulder of Highway 271 when the driver tried to pull onto the southbound lanes.
That's when the motorcycle struck the trailer on the left side and went under the trailer.
The motorcyclist, identified as 34-year-old Anthony Todd Wilkerson of Tyler, was transported to a Tyler hospital where he died from his injuries.
The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, according to authorities on the scene.
The driver of the truck, identified as Todd Ryan of Whitney, was ticketed for turning while unsafe.
