Man pleads not guilty in police chase, bus crash case

SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

Tedric Smith entered a plea of not guilty for allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase and crashing into a school bus.

Officers say Smith led Bossier City police on a chase into Shreveport on June 5th. Shreveport police joined the chase before Smith crashed a truck into a school bus full of children.

Smith is charged with one count of hit and run and 14 counts of negligent injury. He is scheduled to be back in court on August 16th. Judge Mike Pitman is hearing the case.

Assistant District Attorney Sarah Midboe is prosecuting the case.
