"This is unusual weather for this time of the year in this area, so we have to be prepared to move indoors in the event of weather or possible weather, and obviously this week it's had a pretty big impact. We've had to move our schedule around to either move inside or move back out when it's available," said Diego Martinez, the President of Millennium Studios.
The changing movie schedule also changes the schedule of when the city blocks of streets for shooting. However, the City of Shreveport says they are happy to accommodate Millennium Studios in the shoot, because the movie industry in Shreveport is booming this year, which means a lot of money coming into the city.
"Production wise the first 6 months of this year has been what we did last year totally, so this is going to be a very good year for us," said Arlena Acree, the City of Shreveport's Director of Film, Media, and Entertainment.
Millennium Studios says they hate to inconvenience people, but most Shreveport residents have been very understanding.
"It's not just the city. It's the businesses and the people. Not only in downtown, but in the city itself. I realize that sometimes there might be issues that come up that aren't very comfortable, but for the most part everyone is really great to work with," said Martinez.
Thirteen film and television projects have shot in Shreveport so far this year. "Olympus has Fallen" is the biggest of those. It stars Gerard Butler, and it's about a terrorist attack on the White House.
