A major milestone comes Monday for the Shreveport girl who nearly drowned in June at a local country club pool.
Shelby Patrick will be leaving the hospital in Dallas where she has spent the last few weeks in rehabilitation, after being pulled from the bottom of a swimming pool on June 2 during a party at East Ridge Country Club.
Shelby, 9, has been improving steadily to treatment at Our Children's House at Baylor in Dallas.
According to the family's latest carepages blog update, Shelby never thought she would leave the hospital. Now, she is said to be very happy about coming home and is eager to see everyone.
Her doctor has prescribed outpatient rehab three times a week upon her return home.
