SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
Shreveport police are searching for a suspect accused of stabbing a local man in a fight over a woman Friday night.
Patrol officers were called just before 10:30 p.m. to the 500 block of East 71st Street for a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers found 44 year old Tommy Hughes in a parking lot there suffering from multiple stab wounds to his torso.
Hughes was taken to LSU Health by the Shreveport Fire Department with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.
According to Shreveport police, detectives immediately responded and discovered Hughes and a known suspect were arguing over a woman whom they have apparently both been dating when the man produced some sort of edged weapon and stabbed him.
The suspect fled the scene of the crime prior to officer arrival. Investigators are currently working to positively identify and apprehend the suspect.
