BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

A three year old girl who nearly drowned last Sunday in Sunday in Bossier City remains in critical condition. But her family says there's progress to report.

We spent a few minutes with Aubrie Smith's family, and they tell us that she's stable, and they're expecting her to make a miraculous recovery.

Aubrie and her twin sister Angel were with family at the playground at Bellaire Elementary School when, we're told, they wandered off.

After searching, family told us earlier this week that they found them in a pool in the back yard of a house by the school.

Their grandmother pulled them out. She and a friend who was with the family did CPR.

Angel passed away, but Aubrie has been in critical condition ever since.

She's been in a medically-induced coma, but her family says she's slowly coming off the meds that facilitated the coma.

Her grandmother says she has a C.T. scan Saturday morning (June 30), and we're told she has to be in the coma until that.

"Her well-being means more to us than anything in this whole world," their grandmother says.

Funeral arrangements for Angel Smith are still pending.

The family says they appreciate everyone's prayers, but ask that everyone respects their privacy.

There are now two donation accounts for the girls' family. One is at any branch of Barksdale Federal Credit Union. The other is at Community Trust Bank.

You can ask to donate to the Angel and Aubrie Smith account.
