LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

Late on a Wednesday night in mid-June, a Longview Police officer discovered vandals had broken into and damaged several buildings at a park in Longview.

On Sunday, officers arrested 19-year-old Brallan Yair Gamaz and Aryan Michael Snyder, 19, both of Longview, for the June 13 vandalism of Lear Park.

Four juveniles were also arrested in connection with this crime. They were taken to the Gregg County Juvenile Detention Center.

Officers say the extensive damage to the park's concession stand is going to cost the city thousands of dollars and change the way city officials keep tabs on public parks.

The estimated cost of damage is still unknown, as officials are still working with insurance adjusters, but officials did say they intent to proceed with all repairs.

Authorities say the vandals used a golf cart to ram through the fence surrounding the baseball field.

Longview Police say the suspects punctured the walls and ripped out the insulation, leaving it littered across the floor.

The six culprits had their faces captured while destroying several video cameras at the park, allowing Longview Police to ID them.

Those destroyed cameras will soon be replaced, and the Park's Advisory Board has approved alarm systems for every city concession stand.

All six suspects were charged with felony burglary of a building.

Longview Police say the park vandalism is not connected to the string of vandalisms being investigated in the city right now.
