SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
Information provided by the Shreveport Police Department:
The Shreveport Police Department needs your help to find a local woman who has not been seen since last night.
Summer McWhiney has been missing since June 22, 2012 at approximately 7:30 p.m. when she left the home she shares with relatives and walked to a nearby McDonalds Restaurant in the 1300 block of Shreveport-Barksdale Highway. She never returned home and has not been seen or heard from since.
Ms. McWhiney is a 28 year old white female who stands about five feet five inches tall, weighs approximately 170 pounds and has short blonde hair. She was last seen wearing a teal colored shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes with a black jacket.
Detectives were immediately dispatched as patrolmen scoured the area for Ms. McWhiney. Upon further investigation, police recovered video surveillance images from the McDonalds that show Summer inside the restaurant talking to two persons before she walked out the door and left the business.
Investigators are concerned for the welfare of Ms. McWhiney, who is developmentally disabled, and want to make sure she is safe. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Summer McWhiney is urged to call Detective David Gardner at 318-673-7020 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
