SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A man police believe robbed a pair of convenience stores earlier this week in West Shreveport was arrested Thursday afternoon.

Shreveport Police investigators took 24-year-old Nolan Wilkens into custody without incident and charged him with two counts of armed robbery. Police say they  believe Wilkens held up the Valero in the 2000 block of West Bert Kouns Industrial Loop just before 8 p.m. on June 17th and then, just a few hours later, hit the Circle K in the 3300 block of West Bert Kouns Industrial Loop.

In both of those cases, Wilkens allegedly entered the businesses with some sort of mask over his face and a bag or cloth concealing what appeared to be a weapon and demanded money from the employees there.

Detectives developed Wilkens as a suspect based on information gathered during their investigation. At the time of the arrest, police say Wilkens was driving the same Chevrolet Cavalier police think he used as a get-away car in both crimes and that vehicle has since been seized as evidence.

Wilkens was taken to the Shreveport City Jail.
