SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A man accused in the second degree murder of Shannon Golston entered a not guilty plea in court Thursday.

35-year-old Waco D. Collins pled not guilty in the September 2009 murder of Shannon Golston in a Caddo Parish District Court.

Golston was gunned down while sitting outside his apartment at the Southern Village Apartments on West 70th. Shreveport Police say a big break in the case came last month when the suspected murder weapon was found in Champion Lake at Quail Creek Apartments.

Collins along with 33-year-old Timothy Thomas were indicted on second degree murder charges in this case on June 11th.
