KSLA News 12 reporter Fred Childers brings more than 14 years of experience to the newsroom.
In his 8 years at KSLA News 12, Fred has reported on everything from crime to politics to hurricanes. He spent 13 days in South Louisiana covering Hurricane Katrina and her aftermath, doing live reports for stations all over the country.
The Louisiana Association of Broadcasters 2009 Reporter of the Year earned 2nd place for his Hurricane Katrina coverage.
Fred graduated from from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville Texas.
In his spare time he likes to exercise, read, drink coffee, and play with his dogs De Oro (Golden Retriever), and Maggie Mae (Terrier mix).
