Shreveport Airport Authority has announced the addition of Denver flights to and from Shreveport Regional Airport.

The non-stop daily service will be provided by United Airlines and is slated to begin Tuesday, August 28. United Express carrier, Express Jet, will operate service, airport authority officials said. The flight will leave Denver daily at 10:20am local time and leave Shreveport at 4:20pm.

"United Airline's Shreveport to Denver nonstop service provides another option for the customers in the ArkLaTex who rely upon Shreveport Regional Airport for both business and leisure travel needs," says Shreveport Mayor Cedric B. Glover. "We truly appreciate the support that the Airport Authority has had for this service from our many community partners, including Bossier Parish, the Tourism Bureau and many others."

United Express carrier ExpressJet will operate the flight with a 50-seat Embraer regional jet.

"Denver has been a long-term goal for a hub connection of the Shreveport Airport Authority," says Bill Cooksey, Interim Director of Airports. "United Airlines has made this goal a reality during the year we celebrate the airport's 60th anniversary. We now ask the region to support this new service so we can build on it with more flights. We welcome United Airlines to Shreveport with this incredible new option to connecting to the world."

Airport authority members also announced the beginning of all jet-service flights from Shreveport. Those flights are scheduled to start, Thursday, June 7.
