Memorial Day outings for some were interrupted. Officers were out in force, citing folks for open containers and dumping out several cases of beer. Violators got a $180 ticket.

A woman accidentally shot herself while attempting to break up a fight in North Shreveport Monday evening.

Lafayette police say a missing woman's bicycle has been found about 25 miles from where she was last seen, near a highway bridge in Iberville Parish. Investigators are searching the area - including the Atchafalaya River - for Mickey Shunick. The 21-year-old University of Louisiana student was last seen about 1:45 a.m. on May 19.
