SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Ticket-holders to the Blue Goose music festival demanded answers on how to get a refund for the canceled festival.

Among the acts lined up for the 3rd annual Blue Goose Music Festival were Ginuwine and Shreveport native J.C. Jones, but the music stopped abruptly Saturday afternoon, leaving ticket-holders and performers wondering what happened.

By Sunday afternoon, Hinton had issued a statement promising refunds, but soon after, more confusion and questions arose as ticket-holders tried to claim the reimbursements.

Hinton says only paid tickets will be refunded, and the best bet for those looking for the money back is to go to the festival website and click on the "contact us" tab to send an email including a name, contact information, ticket number, and purchase site. Ticket-holders looking for refunds must also have a receipt.

Currently Askari Hinton says he is working to sort out the ticket numbers and should be able to start offering refunds in the next 14 days.

"At the end of the day, whoever is due a refund will get a refund," said Hinton.

And, for the venders who paid to be a part of the festival, Askari says he will be contacting you to refund a portion of your money.

Hinton says it was a payment dispute with the sound company, one that he hadn't used in the first two years of the festival. It is a decision he says he now regrets.

"I ain't never had this problem before. When I deal local, when I deal local I never have this problem. Don't deal with nobody outside the perimeter of Shreveport/Bossier. Keep your money at home," said Hinton.

The Caddo Commission provided $10-thousand for festival organizers to back the event. Even though it did not end as they expected the Caddo Commission feels they still saw a return on the tax payers investment.

"It's a little disappointing to hear that it didn't go off as successful as it should have, but nevertheless, our measurements are on how well it brings people to our community, and of course what they spend while they're here," said Caddo Parish Administrator Woodrow Wilson Junior.
