Bike thief's epic face-plant captured on video

TULSA, OK (RNN) – The owner of Spoke House Bicycles and her staff hope a hilarious surveillance video will help catch a man that attempted to steal a $500 bike.

Attempted might be too loose a description, and thanks to the video, viewers can see the man crashing the bike and getting a face full of asphalt.

"We're watching the video, we see nothing and then all of a sudden, when we see that, I mean, we were high-fiving," said shop owner Brittany Pfaff in an interview with KOTV.

Although the thief escaped the fall unscathed, the bike did not.

"He gets up. I can only assume the chain fell off, so he's kind of trying to fix that, and then it's just like he gives up and just walks," Pfaff said.

Pfaff hopes the video will help police catch the thief who, in the end, left the broken bike behind.
