A reactor in an El Dorado, Arkansas plant's nitric acid facility exploded this morning. A cleanup continues after the early morning explosion and fire. The blast shook nearby homes, but no one was injured. 

Tonight, the Caddo Parish School Board will discuss the possibility privatizing their alternative schools. The district believes this would save money. Click here for more information about the proposal, and watch KSLA News 12 at 6 & 10 for updates.

Calvary Baptist Academy has just a few days left to decide whether the school will apply for Louisiana's new voucher program. Parents will have a chance to have their say at a meeting set to get under way at 6:00. Some have already expressed serious concerns and made their opposition known to the school's administration. Brittany Pieper will bring us updates live from tonight's meeting.

The Jindal administration has taken its budget battle to the Senate in an effort to restore $268 million to the 2012-13 budget. Last week, angry House members passed out a budget bill that stripped $268 million out of the budget. GOP members said they didn't want to use one-time money to balance the budget.

There's a budget battle also under way in Queen City, Texas, too. Residents there are uniting on behalf of the town's music program. Tonight KSLA News 12's Erin Stevenson will attend a meeting between residents and Queen City ISD board members.
