TAMPA, FL - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Thursday that former LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson had been waived.
Jefferson was invited by the Bucs to try out as an undrafted free agent. He participated in the recent rookie minicamp and Tampa Bay was impressed enough to sign him to a contract.
New head coach Greg Schiano said he was impressed with Jefferson's combination of athleticism and a strong arm.
Jefferson was suspended from the Tiger football team in 2011 for participation in a bar fight. Though ultimately only charged with a misdemeanor, Jefferson is currently being sued as a result of the incident.
