Bossier Parish three-year-old hit and killed identified

BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

Louisiana State Police have released the name of the three-year-old hit and killed by a driver in Bossier Parish Wednesday night.

The child, Gavin O. Brown, 3 of Plain Dealing, Louisiana was reportedly riding his big wheel in the northbound lane of the 1600 block of Old Plain Dealing Hwy. around 8:30 p.m. when he was hit by a car driven by, Oscar Wager, 69, also of Plain Dealing.

State Police say the child and his big wheel were pushed over 200ft across the road and into a southbound ditch.

The child was airlifted to LSU Health Shreveport where he was pronounced dead.

Troopers tested the driver for alcohol; however, the test came back negative.

Bossier Sheriff's Department and Louisiana State Police are investigating.

A burial fund has been set up in Gavin Brown's name to help with burial expenses at First National Bank of Benton. To donate you can stop by that branch or mail you donations into First National Bank of Benton at P.O. Box 280, Benton, LA 71006.

Visitation is set for Friday, from 6 - 8 p.m. at Rose Neath in Bossier. Details of his funeral services have not yet been finalized.
