Merger of LSUS and Louisiana Tech is closer to reality

A legislative committee approves a plan to merge LSUS and Louisiana Tech. The bill now moves on to the full House.

It was a showdown on student loan interest rates on Capitol Hill today. Senate Republicans derailed a Democratic bill today, keeping interest rates on federal college loans from doubling July 1 in an election-year battle aimed at the hearts - and votes - of millions of students and their parents.

Paying the parking ticket. There are thousands of dollars of late parking tickets in downtown Shreveport alone. Now the council is looking at doubling the late fees (from $25 to $50) to get them to pay up. Do you think this will work? We will have an update on KSLA News 12 at 5.
