MARSHALL, TX (KSLA) -

The remains found on Monday in a wooded area outside of Marshall, Texas have been identified as those of a woman missing since April 20.

Harrison County and Marshall PD investigators say forensic fingerprinting confirms the body is that of Selonia Rivers, 44, and that her death has been ruled a homicide.

The remains were found Monday morning in a wooded area near the intersection of Frierson Road and Mark Hills Road.

Family members reported Rivers missing on April 23, describing her as wearing a yellow shirt with a red sweater, yellow scarf and blue jeans with white shoes when she was last seen.

Police say the clothing that was found at the location was similar to the clothing that was listed in the missing persons report.

Rivers' daughter told police that her mother had gotten into a vehicle with an unidentified male on April 20, 2012, and did not return home.
