The box makes big claims.
It's the "knife with a slicing guide."
"Makes perfect even slices every time."
"Great for meats, vegetables bread and more."
We assembled some of the same items demonstrated on the Deli Pro box. We got a nice boneless ham, a couple of fresh tomatoes and a sourdough loaf.
The Deli Pro is made of stainless steel. The first time I picked it up, I could tell it was made pretty well. Operation is simple. Turn the knob one way and the slicing guide opens wide... up to 1 1/2 inch thick. Turn it the other way and it closes down to make 1/4 inch cuts.
We started with the ham. It cut a perfect 1/4 inch slice. We just placed the guide against the flat edge of the ham. It was that simple. We were able to duplicate our efforts with a second perfect slice. Like your ham thick? We opened the guide up to 3/4 inch and cut a nice ham steak.
The tomatoes helped demonstrate the sharpness of this knife. We cut several perfect 1/4 inch tomato slices.
The knife performed well with the sourdough too.
"Does It Work?" We give the Deli Pro a "yes."
We paid 15 dollars for the Deli Pro at Walgreens. It's available at several department and drug stores and online.
