At just one-year-old, Tucker Lowe is working on becoming a heartthrob. He loves football, he loves being held by the ladies, he loves getting a little face time.

"He's definitely laid back. He gets along with everybody. He'll let anybody hold him. And he's always been like that," his dad, Josh Lowe, said.

He's growing every day, but one thing hasn't changed: that sweet little face he had when we first met him a year ago, the night of the April 27 tornadoes.

We were introduced to Tucker one year ago through his birth announcement, the only picture his family had that night as they tried desperately to find him.

On April 27, 2011, Tucker was seven weeks old, with his mom Carrie and dad Josh at his aunt and uncle's house waiting out the storm.

As the massive tornado blew through the Pleasant Grove home, a slab fell on one of the kids, baby Tucker's cousin Rachel. The only thing that stopped it from crushing her was Tucker's car seat.

Tucker's mom Carrie had been seriously hurt too.

As neighbors began to save her and free Rachel, baby Tucker was handed off to a lady in the crowd. With rocks and dirt in his face, the lady took the baby to her mother's nearby home to clean him up.

But the storm had knocked out power and communication. For hours, no one knew where baby Tucker was until FOX6 asked viewers for help.

It wasn't long after that, baby Tucker was reunited with his dad.

But all of the endings weren't so happy. Tucker's mom Carrie didn't make it out alive.

"There hasn't been a day I haven't thought about it. Sometimes it's all day long, and sometimes it's just for an instant," Josh Lowe said.

For the months following the storm, Josh focused on coping with the loss of his wife, the love of his life he met as a child.

He also began adjusting to life as a single dad. He and Tucker now live in Hayden, with the family members who were with them the night of the tornado. With a total of four kids in the house, the activity helps the adults focus on the future. But they say it's hard not to think about that day.

"With him doing new stuff every day, it's the most joyful experience as a first time father. But it's also a constant reminder of Carrie and what she's missing out on," Josh said.

Josh says he's already talked to his son about the mother he barely got a chance to know.

"I show him pictures. He'll look at pictures on my phone and smiles all the time," Josh says.
