STARTEX, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg County deputies said a fight ended with a woman being bitten on her stomach and wrist.

Kelsey Lamb was charged with third-degree assault and battery. Spartanburg County deputies said she attacked another woman by sinking her teeth into her stomach and wrist.

However, Lamb said she was the one who was punched first and then bit on the leg.

"When she hit me, she grabbed my hair and then we both fell on the ground. She bit me and then I bit her back, and then we wrestled for a little while," Lamb said.

Brandi Southerland, the alleged victim in the case, said she was the one defending herself when Lamb attacked her from behind.

"She comes running behind me, and I didn't know she was behind me," Southerland said. "After that, you know, she pushed me on the ground and then she latched onto my stomach. How can it be self-defense when she was attacking me?"

Deputies said the whole incident is just bizarre.

"Like I said, it was just kind of an unusual attack, knocking someone to the ground and then going after the stomach area to bite them," said Tony Ivey with the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office.

Lamb said she is due back in court May 9. She was released from jail on a $1,500 bond on Tuesday.
