SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover declared Thursday "Don Bryant Day" in honor of a man who gave 100 gallons of blood.

Bryant says he started giving blood when he was 17 years old. He says the day he saved a 7-year-old girl was the day he decided to donate 100 gallons of blood. The Life Share blood centers stacked water bottles to show just how much 100 gallons of blood would look like. One hundred gallons of blood can save about 2,400 people.
