Gun sales are on the rise

Just as in Texas, it appears gun sales are booming in other parts of the ArkLaTex as well, where FBI stats on background checks show a surge in firearms purchases over the past year. At 6, we're taking a closer look at the numbers and the reasons behind the rush to buy arms.

Thunderstorms are expected this evening for much of the Ark-la-Tex. StormTracker Steve is tracking these storms at 6. It looks like cooler weather too.

If you haven't heard the name Joseph Kony, chances are you soon will. A group called Invisible children has made a video trying to raise awareness about Kony, who has reportedly been abducting children in Central Africa for years and forcing them into slavery. The video's gone viral, and the organization has a chapter of supporters in the ArkLaTex. We'll hear from them on KSLA News 12 at 6:00.

In your community, Caddo Relay for Life is looking for sponsors. The event will take place April 27, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church.

A Shreveport man is charged with aggravated arson following a stove-top fire inside a Jewella Avenue apartment Thursday morning.

See you at 6.
