Kudos to the Caddo Parish School Board for its prompt attention to the inconsistencies in the local schools check out procedures.
This comes after a boy was incorrectly allowed to check out of school. And shortly after our KSLA News 12 Investigation showed serious flaws in the check-out system.
School board members have now implemented a five-step policy that all schools must follow.
Including asking for identification and calling a parent back for verification in the event someone else comes to pick up the child.
We hope these stricter guidelines will add another layer of protection for our children.
And this should send a message to all Ark-La-Tex school officials to re-examine their check-out policies and then put them to the test to make sure proper procedures are being followed.
