The countdown to Hollywood's most glamorous night is on. The 84th annual Academy Awards is Sunday night, and a some of the sparkle hitting the red carpet will be straight out of a Shreveport jewelry designer's collection.
Moonbot Studios' Head of Production Trish Farnsworth-Smith will be sporting a dazzling set of Judith Leiber earrings and a vintage lariat necklace, courtesy of Sid Potts, Inc.
"For years, people at the Academy Awards have had fine jewelry from all over the world by some of the best designers, and we're fortunate enough to have somebody from Shreveport who might win an award this year," says Sid Potts, "So we're excited about being a small part of it."
The stunning earrings feature two blue emerald cut sapphires and 292 diamonds, while the brilliant necklace is a one-of-a-kind estate piece set with luscious sapphires and diamonds. The total weight of the sapphires in the necklace is approximately 12 carats, with the diamonds weighing in at 3.5 carats.
The jewelry is simply gorgeous, says Farnsworth-Smith. "I feel honored to be able to wear it. Sid has given so much to the community and Moonbot, and I just feel tremendously honored."

Moonbot Studios' The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore is nominated for Best Animated Short Film. The animated movie tells the story of a man who loves books, how they bring adventure and color into his life, and how he then leaves his own great story behind.
Their iPad app based on the short film was named "App of the Year" by Apps Magazine, a UK based technology magazine.
