SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
The car stolen by a man who was interrupted burglarizing a Shreveport home on Tuesday has been recovered in Caddo Parish.
The Caddo Sheriff's Office confirms the white Ford Fusion was found in front of a vacant business Wednesday on Highway 173 near Bostwick Road in the Blanchard area. A neighbor called the Sheriff's Office about the suspicious vehicle after seeing that it had been in the lot since yesterday afternoon. There was no damage to the car, which has been returned to the owner.
No arrests have been made.
The homeowner told police he had just returned from a trip to the grocery store just before Noon on Tuesday when he found a man inside his home in the 4000 block of N. Market St. He says he was tied up, his keys, cell phone and wallet taken, along with his car.
The burglar and car thief is described as a black male, about 6'1'' - 6'2'' tall with a muscular build. He appeared clean-cut and was last seen wearing a leather jacket. The stolen car is a white 2009 Ford Fusion, with Louisiana license plate number 'SMU228'.
Anyone with any information regarding this crime is urged to contact robbery detectives at 318-673-6955 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
