PRESCOTT, AR (KSLA) -
Prescott, Arkansas Police arrested a man wanted in connection to a burglary at a tobacco store in early February.
Timothy Hank Jackson, 35 of Prescott was taken into custody during a traffic stop attempt.
According to Prescott police, Jackson broke into the Tobacco Superstore, located in the 100 block of E. Main St. and stole the store's safe and an undisclosed amount of cash.
The burglary was reported on February 13th.
Investigators determined early on in the investigation that Jackson was their suspect. He was initially interviewed and released, according to authorities.
Two days later, a vehicle was stopped in Nevada County and Jackson was reportedly a passenger. However, authorities say Jackson jumped out the vehicle and took off on foot into a wooded area nearby when deputies approached.
After an hour long search by Hope City Police and their K-9, Rex, Jackson was arrested.
Authorities say they were able to recover a majority of the money taken during the burglary and the safe.
The investigation is ongoing.
