DESOTO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -
The DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office confirms that the defense attorney for convicted sex offender, Brian Horn will be leaving the case. Horn is set to appear in court Thursday.
Brian Horn, 34 is charged with 1st degree murder in the March 2010 death of 12-year-old Justin Bloxom of Stonewall, Louisiana.
The D.A.'s office has not been able to confirm for KSLA News 12, why Ross Owens, Horn's attorney, will be leaving the case.
According to investigators, Horn posed as a female and lured Bloxom, through text messages, to take a cab ride to supposedly meet up with a young girl. Instead, investigators believe that Horn attacked and smothered Bloxom and dumped his body in a wooded area.
Back in January Horn entered a plea of ‘not guilty'. He could receive the death penalty if convicted.
