Information provided by the Shreveport Police Department:

Shreveport robbery detectives are working at this hour to identify and apprehend a suspect who robbed a businessman making a night deposit at a west Shreveport bank earlier this month.

At approximately 1:02 a.m. on February 1, 2012, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to the Chase Bank in the 5900 block of West 70th Street relative to a reported armed robbery.

Upon arrival, patrolmen contacted the manager of Papa John's Pizza who advised them a male suspect armed with a handgun accosted him as he was making the night deposit. The suspect, described as a black male about five feet seven inches tall weighing approximately 120 pounds last seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, jeans and a multi-colored ballcap, put the gun to the victim's head and demanded the money bag. The suspect then fled on foot with the stolen loot. The victim was not injured.

Detectives are now releasing surveillance images of the suspect and are asking anyone with any information regarding this crime to call them at 318-673-6955 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
