SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
Saturday's cold weather couldn't stop the 24th annual African History parade in Shreveport.
The parade took place downtown this morning.
Parade goers lined the streets for the festivities, which included local high school bands performing, and of course floats and lots of candy.
KSLA News 12's Tracy Clemons caught up with some of the revelers and asked them what their favorite part of the day was.
One child said "I like the beads. I like to catch candy."
"My favorite part of the parade is the floats and the throwing of the candy and beads and watching the kids pick it up, said Ramona Jones.
Despite the cold weather, folks appeared to have prepared by bundling up and wearing layers of clothing, and all we spoke with said they had a great time.
